I feel like The Call of Cthulhu is where a lot of people start reading Lovecraft. Stringing together a number of isolated incidents that occurred across America and. Lovecraft unspools an eerie tale about an ancient cult-like religious practice that has persisted in rural backwaters and isolated communities up through the twentieth century. Lovecraft's writing is so complex, there is bound to be more to discover and it can only get easier with each read. In one of his most acclaimed short stories, horror genius H.P.
